MINI Cooper Service Checklist
No matter how carefully you drive your MINI Cooper vehicle, you’re going to need routine service to keep it in top shape. But it can be challenging to remember when you need which task completed, so we’ve put together this MINI Cooper service checklist to make it easier. Trust the experts at MINI of Wesley Chapel.

Every 2-3 Months
Approximately every three months, you’ll need to bring your new MINI car to our service center for a routine oil change service. However, another good benchmark is every 10,000-12,000 miles, since MINI vehicles rely on synthetic oil, which has a longer lifespan. Regularly changing your oil prevents sluggish performance and engine problems associated with dirty and thick oil.
During this service, our trained technicians will also perform some other important tasks, including:
- Tire air pressure and tread check
- Fluid top-offs (transmission, brake, coolant, etc.)
- Filter check and replacement (air and oil)
- Headlight, brake light, and wiper blade check (optional)
During this period, you should also take a look under the hood to check for any apparent issues, such as car battery corrosion or cracked belts. The experts at our service center can replace your MINI car battery and old belts with ease.
Every 6-12 Months
Every 6-12 months, you’ll want to schedule a few service tasks to keep you safe on the road. One is a tire rotation, during which, our technicians will move your tires to different wheels, ensuring more even wear. At this time, we’ll also assess whether you need new tires, and we’ll happily replace them for you.
At this same appointment, ask about getting your brakes inspected. When you’re behind the wheel, there’s nothing more important than being able to come to a safe, complete stop. Our mechanics will assess your brake components, including pads, rotors, and shoes, to make sure your system is fully-functioning.
At least once per year, you should bring your MINI car into our service center for a tune-up. This consists of:
- Replacing spark plugs
- Assessing and replacing wires
- Assessing and replacing the distributor cap
- Replacing filters, belts, and hoses
- Fluid check
