Common MINI Cooper Parts to Upgrade or Replace

While quite a few of the components in your MINI Cooper will remain in fine condition for the life of the vehicle, others will inevitably wear out. These are some of the most common MINI Cooper parts that will need to be replaced or upgraded at some point.
Windshield Wipers
If you’re lucky, a new set of windshield wipers will last you a few years. Over time, the plastic cracks and the rubber frays, and when this happens, they can’t clear your windshield as well anymore.
Battery
Batteries can typically last up to five years. If you do a lot of stop-and-go driving, however, it may need to be replaced well before that. This is why it’s a smart idea to have your battery tested at a MINI service center on a yearly basis so you can get an accurate idea of how much life it has left.
Brake Components
Every time you drive, you put strain on your braking system, and certain components wear down. Brake pads and shoes can generally last about 30,000 miles, while rotors may make it to 50,000 miles.
Tires
It’s good to know that tires can have a long lifespan, as they can be pricey. This comes with a big caveat, however: they only last this long if you get them rotated on a regular basis. If you do this, a new set should last to at least 50,000 miles. If you don’t get your tires rotated regularly, they end up wearing unevenly, and you will probably need to replace them closer to 20,000 miles.
